Learn About Vision 9:38
Our mission, values, and leadership drive everything we do to empower ethnic minority missionaries and organizations

OUR STORY
Inspired to Make a Difference
Vision 9:38 was born from Byron Johnson’s deep conviction to address the unique challenges faced by ethnic minority missionaries. During a mission trip to Mexico City, Byron realized the critical need for greater representation of African-American missionaries. This realization sparked the vision to empower and equip ethnic minority missionaries to make a lasting Kingdom impact
If this challenge is not addressed immediately and with some resolve, then we will continue to struggle with the inability to hire and maintain ethnic minority missionaries. As a result, the influencing and the impacting of the minority community and the world could be limited.

OUR MISSION & VISION
Turning Vision into Action
At Vision 9:38, our mission is to expand the number and effectiveness of ethnic minority missionaries while staying true to our vision of empowering and equipping them for a lifetime of Kingdom impact. We accomplish this by:
Educating believers about the need for ethnic minority missionaries and encouraging them to pursue their calling.
Encouraging ethnic minority missionaries to pursue their calling.
Providing short-term funding to missions organizations.
Networking on behalf of deserving and qualified ethnic minority missionaries.
Training minority missionaries to achieve sustainable funding levels.
Through these efforts, we strive to see missionaries fully prepared, supported, and equipped to labor effectively in the harvest for years to come.

Education
Informing believers about the need for ethnic minority missionaries.

Vision 9:38 is an amazing ministry dedicated to mobilizing, equipping, empowering and sending minorities to take the gospel to the nations! Five years ago I had the privilege of meeting Byron and Kim Johnson. What a joy and what a blessing our friendship and partnership has become! They have played such a pivotal role in shaping our mobilization team at Greater Europe Mission. They have helped us to rethink our systems and strategies to be more effective in mobilizing every tribe and tongue to reach every tribe and tongue!

Vision 9:38 has been a tremendous source of encouragement throughout my journey in full-time ministry. I first connected with Byron after searching for African Americans in missions and came across an interview he had given. Since then, he and his wife Kim have offered unwavering support, a listening ear, and a deep well of wisdom. I wholeheartedly recommend the services of Vision 9:38 to all minority missionaries seeking guidance and community.
